A Year of Transformation

2021 was a transformative year for Quartet Health, with a steadfast focus on how we can continue to help more people get the mental health care they need. This year we invested in our talent, operations, product, and corporate strategy to deliver more for patients, providers, and health plan partners. We are energized by our work this year, and remain steadfast in our growth in 2022 to meaningfully advance speed to quality mental health care for all.

BY THE NUMBERS

• To date, we’ve served as the virtual front door for more than 300,000 patients to connect with mental health services. 80% were referred by a primary care provider. 
• In 2021, we connected 1.5x more patients to care than in 2020. 
• 2 new Board members joined Quartet this year, including Dr. Patrice Harris, psychiatrist, former president of the American Medical Association, and Gregory E. Deavens, CEO and president, Independence Health Group.
• 130 clinicians joined Quartet through the acquisition of InnovaTel. They are licensed to practice in 50 states; 51% of the clinicians are prescribers and 27% are clinicians of color.
• Raised more than $60MM+ in investment to bolster Quartet’s support capabilities and increase speed to quality mental health care.
• Quartet launched the company’s five values this year: Put Patients First, One Team, Execute with Excellence, Remain Resilient, and Innovate with Speed and Intention.
• Worked with health plan partners and provider groups to expand to 11 new markets.
• Improved access to care in Arizona with Blue Cross Blue Shield Arizona, and announced a partnership to transform how mental health care is delivered in the Philadelphia region as well as New Jersey.

SPEED TO CARE FOR ALL

Quartet is a company that works with health plans, systems, and provider groups to deliver speed to quality care for all.  This year we announced our next stage of growth to make speed to quality care for all patients across clinical needs, acuity levels, and insurance types a reality. 

To deliver on our promise of speed to quality care, Quartet joined forces with innovaTel Telepsychiatry, one of the nation’s leading providers of quality clinical care. This acquisition will enable Quartet to develop care delivery capabilities, with a specialization around those with serious mental illness. These care delivery capabilities will complement Quartet’s existing ecosystem of high-performing mental health care providers and partnerships. As one of the nation’s leaders in virtual psychiatric care, innovaTel employs 130 clinicians, 51% prescribers, and 27% clinicians of color. By the end of 2022, Quartet will scale to more than 30 states through this acquisition.

In addition to the more than 12,000 mental health clinicians that Quartet has onboarded to its platform over the last 7 years, the company also holds relationships with national provider organizations and care delivery companies to quickly connect patients to care.  

In 2021, Quartet expanded its referral partnership with AbleTo to additional states, creating a solution for patients in Washington State to immediately connect and schedule with AbleTo the day they are referred. Moreover, this year Quartet expanded its work with Mindpath Health and began working with Brightside and Thriveworks, offering expanded access to high-quality care. The company also launched partnerships with Equip, which specializes in eating disorders, and Boulder Care, which has expertise in treating patients with substance use disorder. In the coming weeks, Quartet is excited to launch a new care pathway with LifeStance, where patients will secure an intake appointment with LifeStance after connecting with a Quartet Care Navigator. 

FUTURE STATE GROWTH

Quartet’s vision of speed to quality care for all was accelerated this year through strategic collaboration, including more than $60 MM from new and existing investors. This capital will be put to use to advance the following four areas:

1. Patient identification and engagement
2. Connect patients to high-quality providers, quickly
3. Actionable insights to measure and reward quality
4. Patient conditions and populations

To deliver on this next stage of growth, this year Quartet welcomed market-leading talent to help advance our next stage of growth. Among the leadership that has joined Quartet includes Christina Mainelli (Chief Operating Officer), Deb Stroff (Chief People Officer), Ed Feraca (Chief Technology Officer), and Sharyn Alcaraz (General Counsel). This year we were fortunate to add two additional members to our Board of Directors: Dr. Patrice Harris and Gregory E. Deavens. Dr. Harris is board-certified in psychiatry and has served both her community in Atlanta and the country. In 2019, she became the first African American woman to serve as president of the AMA. Dr. Harris is committed to addressing racial and socioeconomic inequities in the healthcare system and currently treats patients through her private practice.

Gregory E. Deavens is the president and CEO of Independence Health Group. Mr. Deavens is a champion for health equity, and we are honored to have someone as committed as he is to quality patient care join our board.
